Tierra y Fuego Restaurant

High up in the hills of Delicias, behind Montezuma, is one of the best restaurants you will ever eat in. Owned by a very sweet Italian couple who have their own farm, Tierra y Fuego serves authentic Italian cuisine with a tremendous amount of patience and care.

Everything is home-made, from the sauces to the pastas. Their pizza, which is the best in the area and perhaps the best in Costa Rica, is baked in a wood-fired pizza oven.

You will find very few tourists here because it’s not in the center of town, so it’s off the radar, yet many nights, Tierra y Fuego will be nearly full, with foreigners who live in the Montezuma area (many of whom come to this restaurant regularly) and the wealthier Costa Rican families who live in Delicias.

This is truly a very special place in many ways, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy an evening at Tierra y Fuego.

The food is what most Americans think of as typical Italian food… pizzas and pastas, except much better quality than most have experienced. This is not a place for gluten-free dining!
