Young Vision Surf School

Young Vision Surf School is a Montezuma located surf camp that caters mainly to kids/teenagers and beginner surfers. It is operated by an experienced and professional Costa Rican surfer. The camp is operated by qualified, well-trained and knowledgeable bilingual surf instructors who are International Surf Association (ISA) Certified) and are also certified Beach Rescue Lifeguards. Young Vision organizes surf camps at a nice range of surf spots to accommodate the individual needs of surfers of all levels. They organize surfing sessions for beginners, intermediates and seasoned surfers.

Every surfing enthusiast here is awarded personal attention to ensure they learn the finer nuances of the sport, while also keeping in mind that they enjoy their time in the waves and are safe throughout. Sessions for beginners are conducted right on the beach where surfers learn about techniques including safety, paddling, balancing on the board, equipment usage and surf philosophy. This is solid groundwork for beginners to take their surfing practice notches ahead in the coming years.
Intermediate students, on the other hand, are encouraged to enhance their rusty moves and try to take their practice to a higher level while seasoned surfers can gain efficiency over another challenging maneuver. The classes are held every day for a couple of hours at Playa Grande, one of the best surfers beach in the area. During the camp surfers are given boards, rash guards, leash and delicious tropical fruits.

Manuel Cespedes and Alvaro Dormas are the main instructors and owners of Young Vision. Their friendship is based on a shared passion for surfing, which they want to share with the world. They were earlier employed as surf instructor in another region of Costa Rica. After several years of consistent learning and practice, the highly experienced and qualified surf instructors launched their surf camp in Montezuma with the objective of offering youngsters high quality surf lessons and inspiring them to go after what they really want to achieve. The focus is not just on helping them incorporate the right surfing techniques but also using the philosophy of surfing to life in general and inspiring the youngsters to chase their dreams to fruition. Like yoga, the principles of surfing can also be used to achieve a sense of harmony with oneself, people around us and life in general.

Surfers have the option of opting for private or group sessions. Group sessions are ideal for large families, groups of friends and surfing enthusiasts who want to have fun over shared surf lessons in the balmy waters and golden sand coasts of Costa Rica. Private lessons are priced on the higher side; however they are ideal for those who are trying to master a particular maneuver. Group lessons accommodate only three students per instructor and hence come out much cheaper than private sessions. If you aren’t’ looking to learn any specific moves and are keen only on learning basic techniques of surfing group classes are good . Irrespective of private or group, Young Vision Surf School ascertains that every surfer is given attention in a safe, fun and inspiring environment.

Young Vision Surf School has tied up with a property called Luna Llena Hotel for the accommodation of its patrons. The hotel is located bang in the middle of the tropical jungle hemmed by verdant tropical flora and fauna. This homey property offers comfortable, earthy and well appointed rooms To cater to their hunger pangs post frenzied surfing sessions throughout the day, guests mostly opt for popular restaurants such as Vaca Loca and L’Angelo Allegro in Montezuma.
