Atardecer Hotel

There is a saying in Costa Rica, you will hear it all the time. “Pura Vida” the locals will say. It is somewhere between ‘hello’ and ‘good life’, and it sums up the beautiful hotel of Atardecer, the Sunset Hotel.

The hotel is situated in the jungle above the beautiful little fishing village of Montezuma, and affords great views not just across the lush jungle that surrounds it, but also the majestic Pacific Ocean.

The Hotel comprises small cabins that will sleep from 2 to four people. Each cabin has its own private bathroom, mini-bar and balcony from where you can wile away the hours overlooking the lush forest and the mighty Pacific Ocean. Atardecer also offers a grill and kitchen and space for evening BBQs if you feel like dining alfresco.

If you feel the need to connect to the rest of the world occasionally, the hotel also has WiFi in all rooms and areas around the hotel.

Atardecer is perfectly located to reach all the local attractions, including the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, the pretty little villages of Montezuma and Babuya as well as the world-famous surfing beaches at Mal Pais and Santa Teresa. Cobano, the largest town in the area is just 10 minutes away and here you will find all the services you need including banks and medical facilities.

Of course there are beautiful, pristine, beaches closer to the hotel and you can reach these by passing through the village of Montezuma just below the hotel. From Montezuma you can also take a boat-trip out to Tortuga island. The island boasts its own quiet, sandy, beaches and is also perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving.

If you want more adventure, the jungle is all around, including the popular Canopy tour which, as the name suggests, allows you to fly through the canopy of the jungle using zip-wires. Horses can be hired for treks through the jungle and along the beaches, or you can laze the day away at the many waterfalls and swimming pools dotted throughout the jungle.

Whatever your pleasure, Atardecer has it all.
