Hotels

Florblanca Santa Teresa hotel poolThis part of Costa Rica is known for its many cozy, family-run hotels, which range from dirt cheap hotel shacks on the beach to high end bungalows. The prices vary from $10 to $1000+ per night. There are too many to list them all here, so we’ll just include our favorites.

Please be good to the hotel owners and staff. Owning a hotel is a common business option for people who have decided to change their lives and move to Costa Rica. It can be a 24-hr job, 7 days a week. Please take care of your hotel room as if it was your own home. Tipping the cleaning staff isn’t expected, but much appreciated.

Another option is to rent a house instead of going to a hotel! Why stay cramped in a small room, surrounded by other people, when for the same price you can rent a house and have lots of space, your own kitchen, probably better views, and best of all, you’re probably much more likely to see wild animals and birds. Check out the options: Montezuma House Rentals.
