Located on the celebrated Montezuma beach, in the south part of Nicoya Peninsula and surrounded by National Parks and Natural Reserves, the Hotel and Restaurant is a special opportunity to capture the beauty of this ecologically blessed region. It is a comfortable, clean and aesthetic property fully integrated into the abundant natural surroundings with its tastefully appointed design and pleasant ambiance.
The property of Los Mangos is the largest singly owned piece of land in Montezuma, with the capacity to build 25 to 35 more bungalows. The owner has the advantage of the vacationers market in Montezuma because there is no more land available for such a project in the entire area. All the other seven hotels in Montezuma are comparatively smaller (10 rooms maximum) and have reached their maximum capacity.
Los Mangos is a no-fuss budget hotel that offers rooms as well as bungalows for all types of travelers ranging from backpackers to couples to solo travelers to large groups of friends and families. The hotel is right in front of the ocean and close and close to the pool. On the ground level, there are four large rooms for four persons; each comes with one double bed and two single beds, a private bathroom and hot water. On the second floor, there are four double rooms with shared bathroom and two more big rooms with own bathroom and hot water.
Their bungalows are spread under the soothing shadow of the area’s mango trees and are nestled just in front of the sea. You will catch sightings of the region’s famed wildlife ranging from the monkeys to the raccoons to the squirrels, iguanas, tucans and more. The owner has created the bungalows to replicate the architecture found in Balinese style culture, linked by walking roads, octagonal shaped buildings, made of “Nazareno” wood with elevated cathedral ceilings and wide roofed porches. There is a double bed and a single one, hot water, hammocks, rocking chairs and a fan.
This Hotel offers the tourist the possibility to enjoy one of the most ecologically lush environments of Costa Rica and is easily accessible to most town attractions and activities, eateries, bars and conveniences in and around the Montezuma area.
Attractions in and around the region easily accessible from Los Mangos includes the Cabo Blanco National Park, known for its spectacular nature sights, the balmy white sand beaches, the famous waterfall of Montezuma, the primary and secondary rainforests and a large variety of wildlife including three-toed sloths, squirrels, monkeys and birds such as the White Ibis, the Green Kingfisher and the Brown Pelican.
Along with great hospitality and a comfortable ambiance, Guests get to enjoy their scenic pool, an organic design bang in the middle of the tropical garden. You can simply relax in the Jacuzzi after a tiring day of adventure or bathe in one of the waterfalls or flaunt an exotic tan by lying on the deck chairs (complete with tables and beach umbrellas) all day. If you think the adventure ends there, think again. Los Mangos offers Yoga classes on a regular basis in the pavilion overlooking the pool and the ocean. The wooden-floored pavilion is also available for yoga retreats or workshops.
This is one of the no trimmings property in the area is you’re looking for something that is whiff of fresh air from the dime a dozen overpriced touristy resorts that have burgeoned all over this artist bohemian town. The hotel offers an excellent location, personalized service and comfortable amenities that will allow you to enjoy a rejuvenating and enjoyable vacation without burning a deep hole in your pocket.

My new favorite restaurant, Clandestina is not to be missed by food lovers staying anywhere near to Montezuma. Established in March 2015, Clandestina is the new kid on the block. The Oregon/Tico collaboration is a winner among locals and travelers alike, with artisan craft beers, made onsite by Butterfly Brewing Co. and delicious, exciting […]
